SOFIA [ ABN NEWS ] — Binev criticized Greece for unpaid pensions of Bulgarians “We are in the Hellenic Parliament , and I think it is a historical symbol of democracy, rule of law and honesty. I have heard wonderful words of solidarity and the rule of law, which leads me to raise a question that compromises the EU.” – said Binev in the plenary of the Greek Parliament and put forward the issue of legally working in Greece, Bulgarians, who have paid all taxes to the state, but are not getting ] their pensions. He determines the case as a bad signal not only for the Greek government, but for the whole EU, which is currently led by the Greek Presidency, adding “I insist here in the Greek Parliament on behalf of all Bulgarians that this injustice have to be stopped. ”

The MEP, representing NFSB, chaired the seventh regular session of the Commission on Sustainable Development, environment, energy policy , research , innovation and technology – EUROLAT . Its most prominent authorities of our southern neighbour, Binev sharply criticized Greece for serious infringements of the EU legislation to Bulgarian citizens.

“The Bulgarian authorities do nothing to protect the interests of the Bulgarian citizens , but it is the practice of all of the authorities in charge. The disappointment is that after multiple signals to the Greek authorities, do are not changing anything and the Greek institutions behave in a contrary to the European norms’ – commented the MEP and insisted Bulgarian citizens to receive their statutory pensions.

Earlier this year Binev’s, as representative of the Patriotic Front in the EP, signal spread among the European institutions , in addition to reference on the topic, send a written request to the European Commission and the Greek Presidency to the Council and to all Greek MEPs . Unfortunately, the Bulgarian authorities do nothing despite being informed of the case more than once.
